Public Safety
The SHA's Public Safety Office provides independent and subcontracted services and programs that provide for safe, crime free neighborhoods. Programming offered is as follows:
- Police Services - the Springfield Police Department provides additional police services for the safety and protection of the SHA residents and to enhance their lives and their communities.
- Motor Patrol Security - Ambassador Security provides unarmed motor patrol security services at nineteen of the SHA properties which includes enforcing parking rules, identifying safety deficiencies, reporting suspicious activities and promoting safer neighborhoods.
- Crime Watch Groups - the SHA has established resident crime watch group at several of its developments that meet quarterly with SHA staff. These meetings are very effective in identifying criminal element, resident concerns and raising resident awareness.
- Towing/Parking - CJ's Towing Unlimited patrols all SHA developments daily to remove illegally parked vehicles in accordance to SHA parking rules, leaving the properties free of abandoned vehicles.
- Surveillance Cameras - the installation of surveillance cameras was completed in March 2007 at several of the SHA's developments which allows for the monitoring criminal activity.
In the event of an emergency, residents should call 911 immediately. After you have contacted the appropriate emergency personnel, you may want to contact the Public Safety Office and/or your Asset Manager.
